1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Username and display name
- Email address (optional, for account recovery)
- Date of birth (for age verification)
- Password (encrypted, never stored in plain text)
Usage Data
- Nest membership and activity
- In-app currency balances (Golden Eggs, Squawk Gems)
- Game scores and achievements
- Device type and app version
Location Data
- Collected only when you activate a Beakin emergency alert
- Used solely to share your location with Nest members
- Never tracked in the background
- Not stored after emergency ends
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain SQUAWK!™ services
- To facilitate communication within your Nests
- To process in-app purchases and cryptocurrency conversions
- To send emergency alerts to your Nest members
- To improve app performance and user experience
- To enforce our Terms of Service and community guidelines
3. Data Retention & Deletion
- Private Messages: Deleted immediately when read by recipient
- Photos: Automatically deleted after 48 hours
- Emergency Location Data: Deleted when Beakin alert is marked safe
- Account Data: Retained while account is active; deleted upon request
4. Data Sharing
We DO NOT sell your personal information. Ever.
We may share data with:
- Your Nest Members: Status updates, photos, and location during emergencies
- Service Providers: Firebase (database), Google (analytics), payment processors
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect safety
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
SQUAWK!™ complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act:
- Users must be 18+ to create accounts
- Users ages 13–17 may join Nests with parental awareness
- Users under 13 require verified parental consent to join Nests
- We collect minimal data from minors
- Advertisements shown to minors are contextual only — no personalized targeting or behavioral tracking
- Parents may request deletion of their child's data at any time
6. Cryptocurrency Data
- Wallet addresses are stored for NSTG transfers
- Transaction history is recorded for your records
- We do not have access to your external wallet
- Blockchain transactions are public by nature
7. Third-Party Services
- Firebase: Database and authentication
- Google Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics
- Google AdSense: Contextual advertising only (child-directed treatment enabled per COPPA). No personalized ads are served. No behavioral tracking cookies are used. Subject to Google's privacy policy
- PayPal: Payment processing
- Solana Blockchain: NSTG token transactions
